Highlights

Current PAL Activities - working with over 600 children during the year

 

  •            After-School Tutoring Club – Made possible by a partnership with the House Next Door

 

  •            Educational and Athletic Field Trips - Trips included, Martin Luther King Breakfast at Stetson University, Stetson Mascot games, Hatters Fast break Club at Stetson, Keep Deland Beautiful Day and attended an Orlando Magic Game.

 

  •             Football – WVPAL “Deland Dawgs” football league completed another successful year with 6 teams, approximately

 

  •             Cheerleading – as part of the Football Program and in competition with Orange Belt Youth Football Federation.

 

  •          Fall Basketball League - children ages 8 to 17, approximately

 

  •            All-Star Basketball and Hot Shot Competition – children have the opportunity to compete with other PAL Programs 

 

  •           Summer  Basketball League - children ages 8 to 17

 

  •            Spring Break Camp

 

  •            Summer Camps 

 

  •             WVPAL Week at the Florida Sheriffs Youth Camp – children attend a week of summer camping

 

  •            Junior Lifeguard Beach Camp – Sponsored by the Volusia County Beach Patrol and working together with the Volusia/Flagler SAFE KIDS Coalition
